More and more parents are faced with this dilemma today.

Experts say parents can't do much to protect kids from the bumps and bruises of first crushes beyond keeping the lines of communication open and offering comfort.

That's no simple task—kids seem to leapfrog from sweet curiosity about the opposite gender to demanding to know when they're allowed to date to holding hands, kissing and more.

"Teenagers often wonder two things: how to date and what a healthy relationship is," says Jennifer Connolly, Ph D, Director of the La Marsh Centre for Research on Violence and Conflict Resolution at York University.

Anyway, I haven’t met his daughter yet, but he talks about her on our dates all the time. but I’m not really sure how to respond – some of the things he talks about are so “adult,” like choosing her elementary school. But, allow me to make a pitch for this guy (who sounds lovely).
